National Diabetes Week

More than 1.7 million Australians are living with diabetes, and over 100,000 Australians develop it each year – some pretty staggering figures. This week is National Diabetes Week, which aims to raise awareness about diabetes in Australia.

Here at Deakin, we have asked some of our dietetics students to blog about living with diabetes and how healthy eating and exercise fit into that picture. They have also managed to squeeze in some yummy recipes! The theme of the posts will be:

Diabetes won’t stop me…from enjoying exercise and eating healthy foods!

Each student will have a different take or perspective on this theme, but there will be plenty of variety and even an AFL recruit interviewed! There may be some researchers posting about their work too.

Keep you eyes peeled for the daily posts and we look forward to sharing some insights with you over the next few days.
